UMW Reading Program

The UMW Reading Program is designed to help each woman set goals to read books that fall into the four Mission areas of emphasis:
   Education
   Spiritual Growth
   Social Action
   Nurturing for Community.

There are four Reading Program Plans:

Plan I - read 4 books each year, 1 from each category.  Books may be chosen from the current list or from lists from the 5 previous years.  Youth books are included.  In addition to reading the books, regular reading of Response is required.

Plan II - read 10 books each year, at least 2 from each category.  Books may be chosen from the current list or from lists from the 5 previous years.  Youth books are included.  In addition to reading the books, regular reading of Response and New World Outlook is required.

Plan III - read 15 books each year, 8 books with at least 2 from each category and 7 additional books from any category.  Books may be chosen from the current list or from lists from the 5 previous years.  Youth and children's books are included.  In addition to reading the books, regular reading of Response and New World Outlook is required.

Plan IV - read 20 books each year, 8 books with at least 2 from each category and 12 additional books from any category.  Books may be chosen from the current list or from lists from the 5 previous years.  Youth and children's books are included.  In addition to reading the books, regular reading of Response and New World Outlook is required.

2011 Reading Program

If you enjoy reading and would like to be involved in this year's reading program, there are new books available in the church library.  In interested, thse are located on the UMW bookshelf.  There are five categories from which you can choose.  Refere to your new 2011 program book for details.

If you are interested in receiving a certificate, please keep track of the number of books in each of the categories that you have read by the end of June and let Sandy Law know.
