July 31 - Flood Benefit Concert Join us for a great evening of Blues and Barbeque to benefit local Iowans devastated by the recent flooding — specifically Birdland Park residents.  Bob Pace and the Blues Groove will perform along with special guest performers, including hall of fame members of the Iowa Blues Society. Admission is free, donations are welcome. Dinner will be available with BBQ pulled pork sandwiches or hot dogs. It all starts at 5:30 p.m., rain or shine. June 5 - Griefshare Program Griefshare® is a 13 week program for those who have lost a loved one. The curriculum covers all aspect of grief and includes plenty of opportunities for sharing and support. Last year eight women went through this study and they were blessed in surprising ways. A year later they continue to meet and support one another. This course has been such a blessing to them, they want to offer it to others. Evelyn Libby, Marlene Alberigo, Nancy Cumberland and Linda Ludwig will be teaching the class. A new session is starting on June 5 at 6:30. State Fair Food Stand - Aug. 5-17 Our food booth has been located at the same spot since 1949, making us part of the rich history that surrounds the Iowa State Fair for 59 years now. That's a lot of coffee, biscuits and gravy. Each year this vital ministry uses a legion of volunteers to raise money for several worthy mission projects. If you have some extra time to work a shift (you'll get a free ticket to the fair), please contact the church office or Joe Laslo for details.

June 16 - Divorcecare Sessions A new session of Divorcecare® will begin on June 16th at 6:30 in room 304. This is a 13 week program of discussion, information and support for those who are currently going through or have gone through divorce. Class members also receive a workbook with daily devotionals. Pastor Julie Wehner and Joe Laslo will lead this program. All who have or are experiencing divorce are invited to join in this program. If you would like more information visit divorcecare.com.
